Certification Focused FAQs

Your questions are important to us. If the answer to your question is not found below, please contact us with your question and we will get back to you quickly.

Anyone can participate in the various trainings, offerings, and educational opportunities represented in TTI. To become a student in any TTI training module, unless otherwise listed, only requires an application and Pastor’s Reference form.

However, in order to be officially certified, a student must be a member of a TTI member Church.

To receive official certification within the CCK network you must be a member of a CCK church at the time of your participation. This applies especially for our ordination/license level TTI training offerings (e.g., ordination, chaplaincy, church planter, coach/mentor/ trainer, and missionary).

Also, as a partner of World Impact, and any student who completes the World Impact regimen for its training programs through TTI participation, all participants will simultaneously be recognized both by World Impact and TTI certifications for that program.

As a rule, we highly recommend that our candidates for membership find and join a CCK church in their respective locations.

However, when the presence of a CCK church is not available, we do allow special recognition of individuals or families based on certain criteria.

The requirements and process for individual (or family) affiliation with the CCK movement is spelled out on the Affiliate Partners page.

We welcome all churches to study the CCK movement, and prayerfully consider if God would have you join our effort to glorify God through our allegiance to Christ and his Kingdom.

We provide support and materials. The central burden of CCK is to provide its member churches with the tools, processes, and resources to enable them to be certified in conjunction with our standards and commitments.

CCK will provide its member churches with the processes that they can employ to license, ordain, and certify for their leaders. That is all handled locally. We supply support. We don’t select deacons, elders, or leadership for any church but if you want to use our materials, you would certainly be able to.

The Torchbearers Institute will be a ready resource for CCK member churches to equip and certify their leaders and ministers in a variety of ways. Local churches will be able to send their leaders to Torchbearers for certification.

As a rule, each course will cost $30 tuition, plus cost of required textbooks for each course. (Refer to the Certification track list to see how many courses are in the track you desire.)

An initial one-time $50 certification fee is charged to enter the candidate into the TTI certification system.

Since our goal is to strengthen existing and emerging CCK churches through leadership training, it is our strong desire to keep that training affordable and accessible. If you desire training but money is an obstacle, write or talk with us so that we can explore scholarship options. At any given time, two options may be available for scholarship:

— Our scholarship program allows you to get someone you know to send in money for your tuition, fees and books cost. We will record and receipt that person and you for these funds and will apply these toward your tuition and fees.
— If we have funds available, you may apply for those. These scholarships funds are available to CCK Members.

If you have any questions about this, please contact us. We believe that God will supply what is needed for The Torchbearers Institute and for our students as we trust in him.

Certification depends on the track you are seeking to be qualified for.

Each certification path contains unique materials, teachers, support, and efforts to qualify.

As a rule, most tracks require a minimum of 3 courses, which are approximately 9 weeks each with 2 week breaks between. Some tracks will have up to 6 courses, and field work (2 months) to do as well.

Our certifications are open-ended, meaning that once you qualify in an area, we will recognize that certification indefinitely, with the following exception:

— Your ordination, chaplaincy, or missionary certification can be removed for issues of schism, heresy, immoral behavior, or conduct not deemed to be consistent with the doctrine, practice, and values of the CCK movement.
— If CCK certification is removed, the candidate may appeal for consideration to be evaluated again. Once investigated, certification may be reinstated or continued to be revoked.

Revocation of certification license with CCK results in the removal of the person’s name of the official CCK certified roster of licensed ministers.
