Lead the Way
We’re looking to recruit at least 1000 Standard-bearers, true followers of the CCK network! Kevin Kelly, the founding editor of Wired magazine, has developed a 1000 true fans theory that is particularly potent for movements like CCK. In terms of faithful engagement and support, Kelly explains how you only need a 1000 committed individual followers giving $8.33 a month (roughly $100.00 a year) to help underwrite our entire network. That’s about a McDonald’s meal or two cups of Starbucks coffee per month! The Standard-bearers initiative isn’t mainly about funding, though. It is about leading the way, gaining maximum return on investment from individuals who believe in glorifying Christ and advancing his Kingdom through CCK!
What is a Standard-bearer?
A Standard-bearer is a strong supporter and leader who provides prayer, support, and aid to the Churches of Christ the King movement and vision. In the old days, a standard-bearer carried a flag or banner into battle, showing everyone where to go and what to believe in. Our Standard-bearers do something similar. They are people who:
Believe in the Vision
They understand and support the Vision, Mission and goals of the Churches of Christ the King.
Lead by example
They show others how to live a life that honors God, and seeks first His Kingdom.
Assist others as they seek to honor Christ
They use their gifts and talents to serve the church and the community.
Spread the word
Contribute in practical ways to inform others about Churches of Christ the King and invite them to join.
Who Can Be A Standard-bearer?
Anyone who identifies with and supports the mission, vision, and ministry of the Churches of Christ the King can become a Standard-bearer. You may not even be a member of a CCK church, but you are committed to its vision and mission of living out the Story of God in broken neighborhoods. It’s about your heart and your willingness to serve the vision of Christ and his Kingdom.
Standard-bearers may come from diverse spiritual traditions and backgrounds, including teachers, business owners, students, parents, and retirees. What they share is a desire for the vision of Churches of Christ the King, a vision that glorifies Christ and His Kingdom, grows, and makes a difference in places where Christ is not yet known..
Elements of Standard-bearer Membership
Not just a title: Being a Standard-bearer isn’t just a label, but involves specific commitments and actions. Here are some key elements of membership:
Pray for the CCK Network
Standard-bearers commit to praying regularly for the Churches of Christ the King network, its members, leaders, and its mission. This includes praying for new church plants, for the spiritual growth of members, and for opportunities to serve the community.
Financial Support
Standard-bearers pledge to give generously to the Churches of Christ the King network. This money helps support new church plants, train leaders, and fund outreach programs.
Active Involvement
Standard-bearers can attend and participate in activities involving CCK mission and sponsored events. This includes online workshops and seminars, locally sponsored events by CCK churches, or network-sponsored gatherings, workshops, or conferences.
Mentorship
Experienced Standard-bearers mentor new members, helping them understand the vision of CCK and how to get involved. This ensures that the values and goals of the network are passed on to future generations.
Ongoing Learning
Standard-bearers are invited to our CCK-sponsored events, which offer opportunities for continued learning to deepen their understanding of the Bible, improve their leadership skills, and stay informed about the latest trends in CCK network activities and outreaches.

Attract New Members
By sharing their faith and inviting others to church, Standard-bearers help Churches of Christ the King reach new people. Their personal stories and genuine enthusiasm can be very persuasive.
Support New Church Plants
Standard-bearers provide financial and practical support to new church plants. This could involve helping with fundraising, volunteering at events, or providing mentorship to new church leaders.
Develop Interest in Potential Leaders and Partners
